You can watch the YouTube video and listen Tim O’Reilly’s definition of Cloud Computing (second video on the list), probably one of the vaguest and probably because of that one of the most well built definitions that I am aware of:

The definition is from an interview at Web 2.0 Expo. The video is very interesting…

Maybe Thomas J. Watson whas wrong when he said, back in 1943, "I think there is a world market for maybe five computers," now it seems there could be enough with just one big computer, "The Cloud"; and it seems all computing goes into that direction.

He said something like: “Cloud computing is that computer we are all collectively building”

There is a very interesting point there: Cloud Computing is used to define many different things or just one? As I see it, well now many different things, but some day not too far will become just one... " that computer we are all collectively building" Cloud Computing is so huge it affects all areas of computing and the buzz towards it so big that every one in the industry talks about it from it’s own perspective.

Well yes and no, from my point of view, SaaS has been possible thanx to the first advances in Cloud Computing, but Cloud Computing goes far beyond Delivering ONE aplication over a remote server and paying just for what we use.

“Everything changes and nothing changes. Cloud computing is nothing new, it is just virtualisation stuck on top of grid computing,” said Clive Longbottom, service director at analyst Quocirca. Oh man! I hope he is totally wrong!
